Andrea Bufka (she/her/hers)

Andrea has more than twenty years of experience in the nonprofit world working with foundations as well as nonprofit organizations. She managed a small private foundation and was part of the member services team at the Council on Foundations, developing resources and promoting best practices for foundations. She has presented at national conferences for philanthropy and been a member of regional and national philanthropy organizations, and volunteered her time as a grant reviewer.

She enjoys writing and research, and has degrees in comparative literature from Northwestern University, international affairs from Georgetown University, and writing from Johns Hopkins University. She’s a member of the Grant Professionals Association and completed the Grantsmanship Training Program at the Grantsmanship Center.

Andrea lives in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her gardening.

My favorite thing about this work: Helping nonprofit organizations increase their capacity.
