Lisa Vollbrecht (she/her/hers)
Lisa began her career in marine biology and has always been captivated by research science.
She came into the world of technical grant writing while managing the research program of a small aquaculture business and has since broadened her experience to include writing in the fields of education, medicine, and clean energy technologies. She has helped to secure over $4.7 million in grant funding in the sciences, and her experience includes writing proposals for agencies such as:
- National Science Foundation (NSF)
- National Institute of Health (NIH)
- National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
- US Department of Agriculture (USDA)
- US Department of Energy (DOE)
- National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
Coming from a background in small business and technical grant writing, she had long been curious about transitioning her skills to support meaningful outcomes in the public and non-profit space. She joined the RBW Strategy team to advance this pathway.
She is fortunate to live in the special place of Hawai’i, and spends her free time surfing and cultivating her garden.
My favorite thing about this work: Learning about all the ways people dream of to make a difference in the world, and then having the unique honor to help bring their ideas to life.
