Lydia Skapura (she/her/hers)
Lydia has 30 years of experience in economic and community development and has raised tens of millions of dollars over the course of her career. She began as a technical writer for a software company and quickly moved to the nonprofit world, where she spent the first 10 years focused on marketing, communication, events, and membership. For the past 20 years she has focused on government and private grants, corporate giving and sponsorships, direct mail, data structures and fundraising planning. Her experience includes small, grassroots nonprofits as well as large $75MM+ social service agencies. She has worked for Habitat for Humanity chapters, affordable housing and social service agencies, and manufacturing extension partnerships.
My favorite thing about this work is helping nonprofits to develop planning tools, data structures, infrastructure, and staff—ultimately to achieve high performing fundraising teams.
Lydia has a B.A. in English and Religion with a concentration in computer science. Lydia currently is a digital nomad living where the wind takes her, and where the weather is warm.
