Checklists

This article is an oldie but a goodie from Vu Le about the toxicity of productivity. If we are able to keep checking things off our list, does that mean that we are better than others? Are we defining our own value and measuring our success by how many hours we work? Just like the for-profit sector, many individuals and the nonprofit sector overall are stuck in this toxic culture of productivity. But if nonprofit professionals had more brain space and freedom to think outside the box, I imagine more innovation and creative problem-solving would arise in the sector and carry us farther toward solutions to the problems we are all trying to solve.
