Project Management

Since 2003, Rachel Werner has been writing grants and managing large-scale projects in the non-profit, government, and corporate sectors. Rachel Werner has sat on both sides of the proposal writing desk for multiple industries.

  • Supported multiple nonprofit and government clients throughout the grants lifecycle

  • Served as a project manager on several federal grants projects for awards in excess of $2 billion

  • Performed multiple roles throughout the proposal writing process in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs) contract funding

Rachel Werner holds an undergraduate degree from Vassar College and a Master of Public Administration from New York University.

Significantly, she is one of a handful of Certified Grant Professionals (GPCs) in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.  She also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, and a Grants Management Certificate in Federal Grants.

This distinction makes Rachel Werner the only GPC with a PMP in the DC metro area, and one of the few across the country. This allows her to not only be a credentialed grant writer and grants manager, but also enables her to effectively execute a project or task.

She has served as a peer reviewer of grant applications for the federal government as well as
Montgomery County Council, and was also selected to support nonprofit organizations with application reviews. She provides customized grant trainings across the DC Metro Area, including the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, Catalogue for Philanthropy, and a speaker at national conferences for the Grant Professionals Association and National Grants Management Association.

She is a frequent guest blogger on grants and nonprofit related topics for the Grant Professionals Association, and Charity Channel.
